The climate is ripe for revolutionizing agriculture

  • For the health of consumers and the welfare of farm workers

  • For the protection of the planet and its resources for generations to come

Our ultimate goal: ensuring a fresh, secure, sustainable food supply — regardless of calendar or climate.

Our Commitment to the Future of Farming

Our ROOTS

Farming and innovation are woven through our history, from the Cox family farm in Ohio (dating back to the early 1800s) to what is today the largest greenhouse farm operation in North America: Cox Farms.

Cox Enterprises got its start in newspapers in 1898 and grew into a family of diverse businesses, tackling pressing challenges across a wide range of industries with our bold, entrepreneurial spirit and determination to leave the world a better place for generations to come.

Our Focus on Sustainability

Long before going green became business as usual, Cox was focused on protecting the planet. Since 2007, Cox Conserves, our national sustainability program, has funded more than 500 projects, totaling $165 million+ invested in sustainability, conservation and biodiversity projects. And through our Cox Cleantech initiative, we have more than $2 billion in sustainable businesses and technologies.

The Making of The Brand

We know that feeding a growing population has a huge impact on our planet. So in 2018, we made our initial investment in controlled environment agriculture, becoming a strategic partner of BrightFarms. In 2022, we acquired the remaining interest in BrightFarms and also became a strategic partner of Mucci Farms. With these two powerhouse brands, we officially launched Cox Farms in 2024 and opened the Cox Farms Discovery Center in Macon, Georgia in 2025.
