Our Animals

Our Animals

At Cox Farms, we love our farm animals, and we know you do too! They love visitors, but our critters will be socially distancing through Fall 2020. Chewie and the gang look forward to visiting with you again in 2021, and you can rest easy knowing that we’re spoiling them rotten in the meantime!

Chewie, Resident Guard Llama

Chewie, Resident Guard Llama

Chewie is our award-winning Fiber Llama that came to us in 2011. Want to know why he gets such a funny haircut every spring? His hair gets turned into yarn and is knit into just about anything.

Chickens

Chickens

No sleeping in for these guys – the roosters really do crow each and every morning! At Cox Farms, our chickens are a mix of different breeds of Bantam chickens. Depending on when you visit, you might spot some newly hatched chicks. Curious to see what a chicken looks like with feathers on its feet? Come check it out for yourself!

Rabbits

Rabbits

Although we don’t like the rascally rabbits in our gardens, we love to keep them as pets. Our rabbits are super soft and love to eat grass.

Goats

Goats

Cox Farms is famous for our goats, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Our baby goats are born in the springtime, and yes, they are about as spoiled as they look.

Equinox, the Alpaca

Equinox, the Alpaca

Equinox is our farm's alpaca. He's a bit on the shy side but quite interesting to look at nonetheless. Fun fact: Equinox is sheared every spring and has his hair turned into yarn so that none other than Rosemary Cox herself can knit hats and sweaters.

Sheep

Sheep

Our resident sheep are Blue Face Leicester Sheep. These sheep are friendly and likely to come up to smell your hand. Fun fact: Blue Face Leicester Sheep produce excellent fiber for knitting.

Pigs*
